So the folks over styleminions.com have put together a little blogger challenge. Since it’s been like… um. a YEAR almost since I’ve posted anything, I figured why the hell not? Also, Disney… So anyway, last week wass Peter Pan because I’m late, and you guys will be getting 2 posts this week, so here’s my offering. Enjoy!

Color Series: Red

Red.

Red is a bold color. It’s one of the first colors we learn as a child.  It’s a primary color, meaning it’s pure. Nothing can be mixed together to create red. It’s the color of blood, bravery, danger, heat, power, and in China, luck.

Luckily, red’s a color EVERY skin tone can wear. This doesn’t mean go out and buy the first stop light red thing you see. Definitely match the color red to your complexion. For paler skin, go with a bright bold pure red. Olive tones look better in wine and burgundy tones.

Try and match red with lots of neutral colors, as it is such a daring color. Even just a touch of red can really set off an outfit. Also, red heels and undies are ALWAYS in.

Maitreya Madness!

So, I’m still a lonely traveler with no guest model (yet) and on my journey I found Butterdish. It’s an adorable rustic sim complete with rainbows and tractors. Makes me feel like I’m home in South Carolina. Anyway, I came here with no pants because, well… That’s how I roll.

During this past week’s Fifty Linden Friday™, Kookie put out a REALLY cute hair in white that I just HAD to go get in black. I also went and got my first LAQ skin (in Julie), that I’m absolutely loving. It comes with about 8 makeup options for less than 2,000L. Not too shabby.

Now, I dunno if you know this about Maitreya, but not only do they make some of the best shoes on the grid, they also make some really nice clothes. This summer, white and lingerie on the outside is IN. I snagged up the trend and matched this cropped white jacket with this slinky, sexy girdle. For a more fun and flirty look, I added this super cute bustier from Whippet and Buck.

And of course, as I mentioned before, Maitreya is THE shoe store to find the nicest pumps, heels, and boots in SL. I love this matte red leather finish on these shoes. Total sexpot.

Mediterranean Countryside

Well, I’m taking a break from guest models this time around and spending some time out looking at some of the prettier natural sims around the grid.

Naturally, I had to have the right outfit to explore a Mediterranean sim that I found in my “journey”.

Shai offered the perfect dress during 50L Friday this past week. It’s colorful, summery, and worth way more than 50L. She offered it in 4 different colors and they were completely worth it.

Carissa Crimson introduced me to Atomic skins and to this day, they’re still one of my very favorites. I’m wearing the Faith skin and I just adore the pouty mouth. I’m wearing it in Honey, and incidentally, Atomic also has one of the nicest ranges of skin tones I’ve personally seen on the grid. The eyes by Poetic Colors are so realistic. I love the shine on them and the color. The hair is Maitreya’s Piper II in Bistre and the hair doo-dads (Not sure what you call ’em… ribbons? lol) are from Fashionably Dead.
One of my new favorite stores is D-Lab. They’ve got some of the cutest little knick knacks. I got their little hamster pouch that I think is too delightful for words. The jewelry is from Miel, who always seems to put out some of the best jewelry and other items when they offer their talent up for 50L Friday.
Last, but definitely not least of my fashion priorities are these brown leather wedges from Maitreya. Yeah Maitreya’s expensive, but as far as women’s shoes go, Maitreya’s product is in my opinion the reigning champ.
